Sudden Displacement Response in Aleppo

IOM critical aid delivery in Aleppo continues despite intense security situation. IOM in partnership with SARC and Ahl Alkhair local NGO, continues to distribute Non-Food supplies to displaced families in Aleppo city.

During the period from 31 October to 06 November 2016, 4,236 vulnerable displaced persons in Aleppo received 3,722 non-food items including: mattresses, hygiene kits, clothing kits, jerry cans, elderly diapers, baby diapers, and plastic mats). The families are displaced from 1070 neighborhood, Daheieh, Minyan and Hamdaniyeh to other places within western Aleppo  many of whom are living in open spaces (public parks) and makeshift shelters. "We thought we escaped danger, but all of Aleppo is under fire. We worry about our children. About the soon coming cold weather." Nadia, a mother of three children described her situation.

IOM winter response plan is undergoing especially in key locations in Syria where winter hits the hardest.
